The Health Systems Quality Assurance Division of the state Department of Health recently took disciplinary actions or has withdrawn charges against these Clark County health care providers.

The Agency-Affiliated Counselor Program charged agency-affiliated counselor Casandra A. Showalter with unprofessional conduct. Showalter allegedly hugged and kissed a client.
The Home Care Aide and Nursing Assistant programs charged home care aide and registered nursing assistant Victoria Ann with unprofessional conduct. Ann allegedly admitted accepting $800 from a client.
The secretary of health denied a certified nursing assistant credential to Joshua Robert Higdon. In 2013 and again in 2018 Higdon was convicted of driving under the influence. Higdon didn’t furnish proof of having undergone a required substance use evaluation.
The Nursing Assistant Program entered an agreement with certified nursing assistant Michael Keith Schultz that indefinitely suspends his credential. Schultz took for his own use a patient’s narcotic medication. In 2019 Schultz entered a diversion program on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and third-degree theft.
The secretary of health suspended for at least five years the massage therapist credential of Raymond Alan Knutson. Knutson engaged in inappropriate behavior with clients.
The secretary of health denied the agency affiliated counselor application of Ryan James Adams. Adams was convicted of possession of a stolen motor vehicle in 2015, possession of controlled substance – heroin and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine in 2017, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle in 2020.
The Nursing Commission reinstated the license of registered nurse Shawnna L. Dixon and immediately placed it on probation. Dixon must comply with terms and conditions.
The Agency Affiliated Counselor Program granted the license application of agency affiliated counselor Erin Lynn Matheny and immediately placed it on probation for three years. Matheny was convicted of first-degree criminal impersonation in 2017 and possession of methamphetamine in 2016.
The Massage Therapist Program charged massage therapist Jordan Ryun Pfeifer with unprofessional conduct. Pfeifer allegedly touched a client improperly and told the client she was beautiful. The secretary of health suspended Pfeifer’s massage therapist credential for at least five years.
