RIDGEFIELD — South Ridge Elementary School students in Karen Moses’ fourth-grade class haven’t stopped their Friendship Fiestas, held on the first Friday of each month, even during remote learning. The students dress up and share lunch over Zoom. The point: learn about the value of friendship and kindness. Discussions focus on ways students can make a difference. Last year, students connected with older adults at Highgate Senior Living Center. The pandemic has made those sorts of outings impossible. “This has been the hard part, since there are safety restrictions,” Moses said. “We are looking for other ways to make an impact in our community.”
