A 26-year-old man was taken to a hospital with a broken leg after a car struck him early Thursday morning at an intersection in east Vancouver.

Officers were dispatched at 4:49 a.m. to the intersection of Northeast 156th Avenue and Fourth Plain Boulevard for a report of a traffic crash involving injuries.

The victim was crossing the intersection, dressed in black, when a vehicle struck him, Vancouver police Lt. Kathy McNicholas said. The available information does not indicate where the man was crossing the road or whether he had the right-of-way.

The man, identified as Tyler Bell, suffered a broken femur, according to police.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. There were no signs of impairment, McNicholas said.
