GREATER BRUSH PRAIRIE — Vancouver-based Forward Edge International has worked to mobilize teams to help those devastated by the fires in Southern Oregon. From Nov. 1-6, volunteers from the missions agency helped to sift through the ashes of people’s homes to search for sentimental and valuable items, while handing out quilts donated by two churches. While there, they helped a church-turned-warehouse in sorting and organizing donations, then acted as personal shoppers to assist survivors as they shopped for their needs. The group has already delivered 67 handmade quilts from volunteers out of Longview, with the Emmanuel Lutheran and Stella Lutheran Chapel Quilters, and have mobilized one team, Lifespring Foursquare. To plan a trip, contact 360-558-5896, email sheristanley@forwardedge.org, or visit www.forwardedge.org.
