Pedestrian injured while attempting to cross I-205 freeway in Vancouver

An unidentified pedestrian was injured Tuesday afternoon when they were struck by a car while attempting to walk across Interstate 205 in Vancouver, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The incident occurred at 2:25 p.m. in the freeway’s northbound lanes near Milepost 28, according to a State Patrol bulletin. It said the pedestrian was walking from the right shoulder to the left and was struck by a 2017 Subaru Forester driven by Jose L. Arambula, 50, of Vancouver.

The pedestrian, whose name, age or gender was not disclosed, was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Arambula was not injured, though his Subaru was totaled, according to the State Patrol.
