The Royal Oaks Invitational, which brings many of the Northwest’s top amateur golfers to Vancouver, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The tournament had been scheduled for June 5-7. Royal Oaks Country Club said the event will return in June 2021.
“Due to the ongoing concerns of the Covid-19 pandemic and Governor Inslee’s current phased plan, the Royal Oaks Invitational Committee has decided that it is in the best interest of our club, its membership and tournament players to cancel the Royal Oaks Invitational this year,” said a statement on the tournament’s website.
The statement said all entries paid by check will be refunded. Those who entered by credit card have not been charged.
“Those who played in the 2019 Tournament, as well as all accepted invitees for the 2020 Tournament, including those on the current waiting list will be placed on the first mailing for the 2021 Tournament,” the statement said.
