Walk & Knock, the largest annual food drive in Clark County, is gearing up for a challenging year.
President Tom Knappenberger anticipates more need and more generosity surrounding the Dec. 5 food drive.
“Because of the coronavirus and the economy, we expect an unprecedented need for food,” Knappenberger said in a news release. “We often lose some sponsors in recession years, and they pay for the 135,000 bags we distribute as well as supplies and advertising. So we will be aggressive in reaching out to local businesses for their support.”
Walk & Knock is recruiting people who can manage certain sectors of the county for the drive and the 3,500 volunteers who pick up the food donations.
