Zoom+Care to offer antibody testing

Portland-based Zoom+Care is offering antibody testing at all of its locations.

To qualify for an antibody test with Zoom+Care, you need to have been symptom-free for at least seven days.

Antibody tests are different from the more widely offered antigen tests, which check to see if someone is a carrier of novel coronavirus, and could spread COVID-19.

While the antibody test can possibly show that someone has had COVID-19, it still can’t prove immunity to the virus. Because of that, people should not assume that a positive antibody test means they are safe to disregard physical distancing measures.

Patients need to first speak with a provider in person, through a computer chat or over the phone to get approved for a test. Results are usually available within three to five days. Learn more at https://www.zoomcare.com/visit/covid-19-antibody-testing.
