Clark County Public Health confirmed three new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths Thursday morning.

The county has 375 confirmed cases and 23 deaths. There have been at least 5,402 people tested for the virus in Clark County.

Six cases were confirmed Monday, one case was confirmed Tuesday and four cases were confirmed Wednesday. There were new deaths reported Tuesday and Wednesday.

There are eight people hospitalized for COVID-19 in Clark County, and two people are in an intensive care unit. Those numbers continue to drop each week.

Seventy-one cases are associated with long-term care facilities, a mixture of staff and residents.

At least 86 medical workers in Clark County have contracted novel coronavirus, according to Public Health. The medical workers did not necessarily contract the virus as a result of their work.

That means 157 cases, or about 42 percent of the county’s cases, are tied to medical workers or long-term care facilities and staff.

Testing has been prioritized for high-risk medical workers and staff and residents at care facilities, because those people are more likely to catch the virus, and also potentially spread it to others.

State Department of Health Data from the end of April shows that Clark County has hit high points in testing capacity, since the pandemic started. Data from April 29 and April 30, which is still incomplete, show around 215 test collections run each day, above a previous high of 194 test collections on April 24.

At the end of March, Clark County had a high of 152 test collections.

There are 15,905 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Washington. More than 224,000 people have been tested statewide, and at least 870 people have died from the virus.
