Letter: Thanks to those who wear masks

By George Thomas, Vancouver
Published: May 6, 2020, 6:00am

I’m 82 years old and want to thank all of you who wear masks in public places for trying to keep me alive. You know that masks can be contaminated, but most of you wear masks to protect others like myself and those with compromised immune systems or with other health issues. You wear them so as not to unknowingly spray by merely breathing the virus into the air and onto everything you touch and look at. Thank you for being intelligent and well-informed and for caring about the lives of others. In this war, you are good comrades.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
