WEST VANCOUVER — The Korean War Veterans Memorial Wall of Remembrance is $5,000 closer to reality thanks to an anonymous local donation. Ed Barnes, commander of the Richard L. Quartier Southwest Washington Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association, recently received the donation and passed it on to the national organization for its memorial in Washington, D.C. The Wall of Remembrance will contain the names of 36,574 Americans who gave their lives during the conflict, which ended 65 years ago with a cease-fire agreement.
