The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office has officially identified the man who died after he was run over in a central Vancouver parking lot.

William N. Miller, 45, of Vancouver died Wednesday from multiple blunt force injuries, according to a news release from the medical examiner. Miller was on a skateboard when he was hit by a vehicle and became pinned underneath it, the news release says.

The medical examiner listed the manner of death as homicide, meaning it resulted from another person’s deliberate action. The ruling does not make any judgments about criminal culpability.

Vancouver’s Joshua Lamont Jones, 18, appeared Thursday morning via video in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of second-degree murder in Miller’s death.

Jones told police he didn’t mean to hit Miller. He said he had intended to “scare him,” court records say.
