Shots were fired outside the Red Robin restaurant at Vancouver Mall Saturday afternoon, an incident currently under investigation by the Vancouver Police Department.

It appeared that bullets hit a car window around 4:40 p.m., leaving shattered glass in the parking lot, VPD Sgt. Aaron Gibson said. There was no evidence during the initial investigation that any person had been shot.

It’s also unclear whether there was one shooter or multiple shooters, Gibson added, speaking to The Columbian about an hour after the initial call. Scanner traffic indicated that police were searching for a person of interest as identified by partial witnesses at the scene, located at 8311 NE Vancouver Mall Dr.

“There’s still a lot of questions to answer,” Gibson said.
