A man who was struck and killed by a vehicle early Friday morning on Northeast 78th Street in Vancouver has been identified as Thomas R. Ramsey, according to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Ramsey, 49, of Vancouver died of multiple blunt force injuries, and the medical examiner ruled his death an accident.

He was struck about 6 a.m. in the 7800 block of Northeast 78th Street, according to a police statement issued Friday.

Ramsey was declared dead at the scene.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Vancouver resident, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. Driver impairment does not seem to be a contributing factor to the crash, the statement said.

The crash is being investigated by the Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit.
