Vancouver Public Works crews shut down a portion of Northeast Fourth Plain Boulevard on Thursday due to a gas line rupture.

Public Works said on Twitter that the boulevard was closed at Northeast 137th Avenue due to a gas line having been struck by a private contractor.
NW Natural responded to the leak.

Workers established detours on Fourth Plain in both directions. The road closure was estimated to last until 6 p.m.

Commuters were asked to avoid the area.
