Clark County, Vancouver utilities halt shutoffs over lack of payment

Clark Public Utilities temporarily has ceased disconnecting electrical or water services due to lack of payment, according to a news release. The public utility is also closing in-person customer service due to public health recommendations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Customers experiencing hardship should call customer service for arrangements and assistance options. Call 360-992-3000, email mailbox@clarkpud.com or visit clarkpublicutilities.com for more information.

NW Natural is also stopping gas shutoffs due to missed payments. Customers will continue to receive bills and past-due notices but no final shut-off notice.

The city of Vancouver is offering case-by-case financial assistance for customers who are experiencing difficulties paying for water, sewer or stormwater bills. Customers are urged to call 360-487-7999 or email utilitiescs@cityofvancouver.us.
