Girl Scouts get look at election process

ESTHER SHORT — Girl Scouts from Troop 40129 recently had the opportunity to get an up-close look at how ballots are processed at the Clark County Elections Office during the Tuesday presidential primary. Children from kindergarten through ninth grade toured the office at 1408 Franklin St., Vancouver, observed how ballots were counted, and asked questions about voting and the counting process. Girl Scouts in fourth and fifth grades also completed steps toward their Inside Government badge, which is one of 18 Citizenship badges available to Girl Scouts.
