Evergreen Public Schools announced plans Saturday to continue provide food and child care during the closure of all schools in response to the coronavirus crisis. Here are the details.
The Southwest Washington Child Care Consortium will be open and operating for currently enrolled families beginning Monday at the following elementary school locations: Burton, Crestline, Endeavour, Fisher’s Landing, Harmony, Image, Orchards, Pioneer and the Park Crest Early Care and Education Center. If you are not currently enrolled, register by phone only starting on Monday at 360-952-3466. Families will not be able to register on site.
Meals sites and delivery: Beginning Tuesday any student or community child can get fed through two different programs. Breakfast and lunch “grab and go” meals will be available from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the following schools: Burton Elementary, Cascade Middle, Covington Middle, Crestline Elementary, Ellsworth Elementary, Hearthwood Elementary, Heritage High, Mill Plain Elementary, Silver Star Elementary.
School buses will deliver meals on normal morning elementary routes throughout the district. Students of all ages, not just elementary, may wait at regular times and stops, and buses will stop to deliver both breakfast and lunch at the same time. Find a convenient bus stop at https://evergreenps.org/Bus-Schedules. Normal Special Needs routes will continue; a household member must come out to the bus and collect the meals.
