Of course, we are into meteorological spring but astronomically we still have several days to go yet. And, it will surely feel like winter beginning Friday through Monday. Clouds increase tonight and some time on Friday showers will break out along with a chilly wind. Snow levels begin around 2,000 feet but drop quickly below 1,000 feet.
Our high temperature will be closer to what we would expect our average low temperatures to be for this time of the year. It’s possible Saturday we’ll struggle to reach 40 degrees. Our outlying locations and foothills will have highs only in the 30s.
Don’t be surprised later on Saturday and Saturday night, if moisture remains, to see snow falling down to city levels but no accumulations. The foothills will score again for the third weekend. Can you believe this will be the third weekend in a row with a cold pool of air over us and then returning to mostly sunny skies during the weekdays?
Of course, as skies clear Sunday a hard freeze is expected Monday morning. East winds will blow Sunday adding to the wind chill as afternoon temperatures hover in the low to mid-40s. It will be chilly folks. The high temperatures will take a while to rise to normal next week.
