Police say pedestrian seriously hurt in crash near Vancouver Mall

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries early this morning after being struck by a vehicle on Northeast Andresen Road in Vancouver, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

The crash was reported at 5:19 a.m. near the intersection of Northeast Andresen Road and Northeast Vancouver Mall Drive, according to emergency dispatch records.

A police bulletin said officers closed off Andresen Road between Northeast Vancouver Mall Drive and Northeast 58th Street.

The bulletin said the pedestrian, a 49-year-old Vancouver resident, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old Vancouver resident suffered minor injuries.

Police said intoxication is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The police department said on Twitter that Andresen Road was reopened around 9:45 a.m.
