CDM Long Term Care Services is looking for activities assistants to run small group activities for clients with dementia and traumatic brain injuries. Activities might include bingo, art, trivia, dice, etc. Volunteers who enjoy karaoke and/or can play an instrument are also needed to help entertain clients during the week. Contact: 360-896-9695.

Clark Public Utilities Stream Team hosts tree-potting events in early spring. Volunteers pot up tree saplings or cuttings in the native plant nursery. Training, snacks and tools are provided. Contact: 360-992-8585.

Columbia Springs Environmental Center seeks a field guide translator. Field guides are available for all students who attend field trips to Columbia Springs. At times, volunteers are needed to provide translation of those field guides into Spanish and Russian. Contact: 360-882-0936.

Mount St. Helens Institute is currently recruiting new volunteers for the 2020 season. Orientations will be held in April and May. Opportunities include: Conservation Corps, education, mountain stewards, special events, volcano naturalists, site hosts, and administration. Contact: 360-891-5199.

Vancouver Farmers Market volunteers are needed for the 2020 season. Information/Shop and Drop booth volunteers answer questions, process credit card and EBT payments, collect booth space rental fees from vendors, conduct hourly customer counts and help in other areas as needed. Produce Pal volunteers provide a dynamic opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through discussions with farmers, educational games, and demonstrating new fruits and vegetables. Vancouver Public Schools is looking for adult mentors to participate in the Lunch Buddy program at Sarah J. Anderson Elementary. An adult mentor is paired with a student to have lunch once a week for 45 minutes. Volunteers must successfully complete a background check. Contact: 360-313-1536.
