MEADOW HOMES — Peace United Reformed Church, 2901 N.E. 65th Ave., Vancouver, met for its first service on Feb. 2 and had 94 people in attendance. Peace United Reformed Church gets its name “from Scripture passages that speak about the true peace that only God can give through his Son,” according to the church’s pastor, Chris Coleman. Peace United Reformed Church began in 2014 as a home Bible study in Battle Ground, and is a “church plant” of Grace United Reformed Church in Portland. At the inaugural service, Coleman preached from Chapter 5 of Romans, and the group sang Psalm 46 and other hymns. Guests traveled from as far as Kennewick, Salem, Ore., and Blythe, Calif.
