The Vancouver-based Kuni Foundation awarded $1.6 million to three housing models that support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

That includes $559,000 for general operating support at Stephen’s Place in Vancouver’s Ellsworth Springs neighborhood. The independent apartment community connects residents to employment, education, community service, physical fitness, the arts and other social enrichment opportunities.

Kuni also awarded $207,000 to Albertina Kerr’s 30-unit workforce and inclusive housing project in Gresham, Ore., which will be completed in 2021. Next Step Strategies WeBUILT Congregate Community received a $800,000 no-interest loan and a $20,000 grant from Kuni for the housing project in Clackamas, Ore.
