We finally got some relief from the warm weather as clouds and cooler air moved over us Saturday. Today we expect some light showers scattered about. I don’t expect a good soaking unless you are lucky enough to be near a heavy shower and possible hail. Just scattered showers.
And what can you say about the warm temperatures last week? Only one day had a high in the 70s. Let’s review. Monday 86; Tuesday 94; Wednesday 79; Thursday 85; and Friday 87 degrees. Hot in my book.
The overnight lows were on the warm side too with only Monday having a low in the 50s, the rest of the week they were at 60 degrees or better. That should make the garden grow. Anyone getting any ripe tomatoes yet? Will your corn be knee-high by the Fourth?
I love this time of the year. As the weather warms up so many great fruits and vegetables from our state are in the markets. You know me, I’m waiting for the watermelons. I have a friend in Central Washington and he says the melons are growing by leaps and bounds each day. Some locations have been hot and dusty over there last week with highs 90 to 100 degrees.
