Vancouver will resume parking enforcement in the downtown, Uptown Village and waterfront areas starting in July.

The city had suspended issuing parking tickets on March 20 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Since entering Phase 2, we are seeing more businesses start to reopen in the downtown and uptown areas, which will continue as we move to Phase 3,” Parking Manager Steve Kaspan said in a media release.

“The time limits on parking and hourly rates are intended to promote the turnover of spaces, helping ensure availability of parking for customers and visitors.”

Parking enforcement will resume July 1, with a one-week grace period of issuing warnings only.

Ticketing will resume as usual on July 8.
