Clark County Public Health confirmed 16 more novel coronavirus cases Tuesday morning, for a total of 719 in the county since early March.
The new cases come a day after 18 cases and one death were confirmed for the Friday through Sunday period. No new deaths were reported Tuesday. The county’s total remains at 29.
As of Monday, 11 people were hospitalized for COVID-19 in Clark County at either PeaceHealth Southwest or Legacy Salmon Creek Medical centers.
Clark County is currently in Phase 2 of Gov. Jay Inslee’s reopening plan for the state. In order to move to Phase 3, the county needs to maintain a rate of fewer than 25 cases per 100,000 residents over 14 days. The county is currently at 16.8 cases per 100,000. According to the Public Health website, the 14-day period starts six days prior to the current date to account for the lag in reporting. The earliest Clark County could move to Phase 3 is the end of June.
