County seeks input on future parks priorities

The county Public Works Parks and Lands Division is updating its Parks and Recreation and Open Space Plan and is seeking public input on priorities for future parks.

Residents can complete a 20-question survey, which is available in English, Spanish and Russian, to help guide the plan at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YXQKNK5.

The plan provides direction on management of parks, trails, natural areas, sports fields and other recreation areas. State and federal grants, as well as the Growth Management Act, require updates every six years.

The county will work with a consultant — Conservation Technix Inc. — as it considers staff, county Parks Advisory Board and public input. The plan will then go to the Clark County Council for approval, likely in 2021.

More information on the plan can be found at https://www.clark.wa.gov/public-works/comprehensive-parks-plan.
