MINNEHAHA — Local State Farm insurance agent Kris Green and others recently collaborated on an idea to support the Clark County Food Bank, while encouraging the public to make their own donations. Over 20 agents individually promoted the “Fund and Food Drive” on Facebook, and are collectively donating about $10,000 to benefit the food bank. This is in addition to monetary donations made by the public online at clarkcountyfoodbank.org/statefarmdrive, or dropped off food on-site at the food bank location. The $10,000 in proceeds will help create approximately 30,000 meals for the community, a news release from State Farm said. “We felt it was important to support the Clark County Food Bank as they have been here for the community during this challenging time providing food to those in need,” Greene said. “Driving people to the food bank also engages the community in helping since nonprofits have been hurting throughout the shutdown.” Additional donations were accepted at the food bank on June 5.
