Asics Roadblasts built for speed

Who doesn’t like to run fast? Those who try on a pair of Roadblasts, the latest offering from Asics, will have a lot of fun pushing them to the limit. Let’s start with the basics — this is a lightweight shoe for neutral-striding runners, designed for speed. At first glance, you’ll notice the large midsole — the cushioning between the outer sole and your foot — which features what Asics calls “Flytefoam Blast.” This foam technology is designed to provide responsive cushioning with more of a “bounce.” The point is to propel you forward as fast as possible while retaining that comfortable ride. The shape of the shoe is also important, producing a trampoline-like effect with each stride, again working to improve that push from the ground. The upper features a gender-specific knit pattern to better conform to men’s and women’s foot types. It’s also highly breathable, making it a good choice for those summer track workouts. For road racers taking on anything longer than a 5K, this may be a good option that offers the lightweight feel of a racing shoe combined with better cushioning to help ease the pounding on the pavement.
