A 24-year-old Vancouver man harassed a man riding a C-Tran bus and then stabbed him Monday morning, according to court records.
Levi W. Fuller was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault. Clark County Superior Court Judge Daniel Stahnke set Fuller’s bail at $100,000 during a first appearance hearing Tuesday.
Two Vancouver police officers were dispatched around 7 a.m. Monday to an assault with a weapon at East Mill Plain and MacArthur boulevards.
There, they found a man, identified in court records as Seth H. Gale, lying on the sidewalk on the south side of Mill Plain near a bus stop, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Police found a blue jersey next to Gale covered in blood, and his stomach was bloody, the affidavit says.
Gale told officers he was on the bus when a man with a slender build and wearing a red hat yelled about Gale being from the “south side.” The man then stabbed him in the left side of the rib cage, according to the affidavit. Gale said the assailant ran east from the bus stop.
The allegations do not specify whether the stabbing happened on the bus or at the bus stop.
Police detained Fuller as he was walking into Park Hill Cemetery at 5915 E. Mill Plain Blvd. Court records say a witness identified him as the assailant.
An arraignment hearing in the case is scheduled for June 10.
