Three families were displaced Sunday by an apartment fire in Vancouver.

Crews from the Vancouver Fire Department were dispatched at 4:26 p.m. to a reported fire at an apartment building at 2227 E. Eighth St., in the Hudson’s Bay neighborhood, according to a department press release. They arrived to find smoke showing and a fire burning in the attic.

Crews rescued a family pet in one of the apartments as they gained control of the fire, the department said.

Two of the three displaced families are receiving aid from the Red Cross, according to the department.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
