STEVENSON — The Stevenson-Carson Educational Foundation raised more than $21,000 to provide additional meals for students at home. Donations came from individuals, businesses and the Three Square food program. The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington and the Joan Burchell Fund at the Gorge Community Foundation also provided funding. The money was used to add a variety of food for non-school days, including weekends, spring break and summer vacation. “It was very rewarding to be able to provide above and beyond for our students during the mandatory school closure,” former superintendent Karen Douglass, who oversaw the Enhanced Meal Program once the pandemic started, said in a news release.
