A fire destroyed a barn Wednesday in Brush Prairie.

Clark County Fire District 3 crews were dispatched at 5:28 a.m. to Northeast 117th Avenue and 119th Street for a report of a structure fire.

The first arriving crew found a barn in a field engulfed in flames, Fire Marshal Chris Drone said.

Firefighters employed a defensive strategy, Drone said, dousing the flames from the exterior of the barn. They successfully prevented the fire from spreading to surrounding vegetation, he said.

The blaze was quickly extinguished.

There were no reports of injuries, and the barn was unoccupied, Drone said.

The fire’s cause is under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office.
