A travel-trailer fire Wednesday in Vancouver’s Dubois Park neighborhood displaced two people.

Vancouver Fire Department crews were dispatched at 2:03 p.m. to 4701 E. Evergreen Blvd., The Trees Mobile Home Park, for a report of a residential fire.

The first arriving crew found a trailer on fire, with flames extending to nearby power lines, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

Crews quickly pulled a hose to douse the fire, but a power line was knocked down, according to radio traffic.

The damaged electrical line caused safety issues during the extinguishment, but Clark Public Utilities employees promptly responded and dealt with the hazard, Vancouver firefighter Jesse Martin said.

Crews had the fire under control in about 20 minutes, Martin said.

The fire appears to have destroyed the trailer and its contents. Martin said two people were living inside the travel-trailer, but it’s unknown if they were home when the fire started. The Red Cross was called to offer them help.

Three engines, a ladder truck and a battalion chief — 15 firefighters total — responded to the scene.

The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
