ARNADA — Rey Reynolds, candidate for the state Senate’s 49th Legislative District, organized a Juneteenth Unity Food Drive to help those in need who are food insecure due to COVID-19 shutdowns, many of whom are people of color. Juneteenth, observed every June 19, is a holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. “We are one community; change won’t happen if we do nothing,” Reynolds, an officer with the Vancouver Police Department, said in a news release. The drive gathered nearly 900 pounds of food in three hours. The food was donated to the Clark County Food Bank.
