Letter: Paycheck program mismanaged

By Steve Engard, Ridgefield

I am absolutely flabbergasted to see that our tax dollars are being spent to support religious organizations, that are not required to pay any taxes. On top of that, there is no requirement to account for how the money is spent. The Paycheck Protection Program was put forward to safeguard jobs, but apparently the Trump administration is not asking for any proof that employees are not being permanently fired. The PPP is supposed to be a loan program, but it can change into a grant program, not requiring payback.

Just another sign that Trump is not a competent manager of our government.
