Clark County Public Health confirmed 46 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths Thursday.

On Wednesday, the county only reported 25 new infections, the lowest total since July 2. Thursday’s output is more on par with the daily case counts the county has been seeing lately.

Clark County has 1,390 confirmed cases and 33 deaths. The county has a rate of 57.9 new cases per 100,000 population, according to Public Health. That’s well above the target metrics the state is seeking for Phase 3 entry.

Washington has paused entry into new phases until at least July 28, and it seems unlikely that Clark County will reach Phase 3 at that point.

Close to 21,000 people have been tested for the virus in Clark County.

The county has 27 people hospitalized for coronavirus in its two hospitals, which are 65.9 percent full, according to Public Health.

Washington has 43,046 confirmed cases and 1,421 deaths, according to the state Department of Health.

The state has released new data to more comprehensively represent COVID-19 deaths in Washington.

Clark County has 26 confirmed COVID-19 deaths and seven suspected COVID-19, according to department of health data.

Suspected deaths are deaths that do not list COVID-19 on the death certificate, but happen to people who tested positive for the virus before dying.

There are fewer than 70 suspected deaths statewide, according to the data released earlier this week. The state says that about 89 percent of COVID-19 deaths are confirmed COVID-19 deaths, listing coronavirus as a cause of death on the death certificate.

The department of health also reports that there are at least 80 people statewide who probably died from COVID-19. These are people who do have COVID-19 listed on their death certificate as a contributor or cause of death, but do not have a known positive test for the virus.
