With the Aug. 4 primary election right around the corner, the League of Women Voters of Clark County and the Fort Vancouver Regional Library present “Primary Focus,” an online workshop to help you be an engaged voter.

The presentation — from 6 to 8 p.m. today — requires online access with a computer, tablet or phone with a microphone. The event is free, but registration is required at https://fvrl.librarymarket.com/primary-focus-2020-building-our-community-one-vote-time.

You can also go to the Fort Vancouver Regional Library website and search the events calendar to sign up.

Presented by the League’s Civics Education Committee, the workshop details why a primary is an important opportunity to make your vote count. You’ll learn where to go for reliable information about the candidates seeking to represent you, as well as tips for making good decisions.

You’ll also learn about Washington’s top-two primary system and how Washington is one of only five states in the country with all-mail voting.

A link and password to join the event will be emailed to registrants one hour before the program begins. A phone number will be included to allow you to use a phone as speaker and microphone, if needed.
