The owners of the former HP inkjet printer campus on Southeast 34th Street in east Vancouver say they are pursuing a new plan to widen its use and create public access.
HP sold the 175-acre fenced campus 11 years ago and is now located in a large building near Southeast 164th Avenue and Mill Plain Boulevard. The company is planning to expand into a new development in the English Pit quarry west of Southeast 192nd Avenue and north of Southeast First Street.
New York-based New Blueprint Partners acquired the former HP campus, which encompasses six large buildings and is now called the Vancouver Innovation Center. NBP’s local consultants are writing a master plan.
“This property was originally designed to be a closed, industrial campus. We aim to open it up to its neighbors and the larger Vancouver community,” NBP Principal Marc Esrig said in a news release issued Monday. “By making it accessible and building a mix of uses, we can attract a range of employers and support live-work opportunities that create a vibrant destination for Vancouver and eastern Clark County.”
