RIDGEFIELD — Teachers at Union Ridge and South Ridge elementary schools decided to end the year with a car parade through their students’ neighborhoods. Students this year didn’t have a normal last day of school filled with class parties and games due to the pandemic. They made noise from their car stereos, honked their horns and used noisemakers. Cars were decorated with signs and one even had a giant inflatable rubber duck on the roof. Some teachers wrote the names of all their students on their windows. And there were many good wishes: “Last Day of School!,” “Tater Tots Rock!,” “Have a Great Summer!,” and “Parent Report Card: A+!” Kids stood on the sidewalk with their families, waving as their teachers drove past.
