In June, $921,093 in grants were awarded from the SW Washington COVID Response Fund.
Among the awards was $200,000 to Council for the Homeless, $200,000 to the Scholar Fund, $100,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington, $100,000 to Lower Columbia CAP, $75,000 to Share and $65,000 to Battle Ground HealthCare.
The SW Washington COVID Response Fund has now provided more than $4.5 million in local relief since the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington launched the fund in March. Grants support programs and services that improve access to food, housing, technology, and health and safety equipment.
Fundraising was recently boosted due to a partnership with the statewide All In WA campaign and a $500,000 challenge match from the Ed and Dollie Lynch Fund.
“The pandemic has no set timeline, but we know that its effects on our neighbors and communities will be lasting,” Community Foundation President Jennifer Rhoads said in a news release. “Our relief funding will continue as long as our community is willing to extend a helping hand.”
