Sydney Flores-Tucker scored 17 points and Jordan Ryan added 14 as Columbia River jumped out to an early lead then fended off a late R.A. Long comeback.
“We had some turnovers against their press, which allowed them to pull away at the start,” R.A. Long coach Jan Karnofski said. “But from that point on, I was really happy with how we played.”
When R.A. Long’s top scorers got into foul trouble, Jayla Clark and Kailey Sirnio came off the bench and played well, getting River’s lead down to nine at the start of the fourth quarter.
“But then they hit some big shots to pull away,” Karnofski said.
Jayla Clark had 11 points to lead R.A. Long, which will look to seal up fourth place in the 2A Greater St. Helens League with a win Monday over rival Mark Morris.
