The Council for the Homeless issued a severe weather alert for Monday night, when freezing temperatures and fog are expected.

The alert prompts shelters to expand capacity if possible and asks some churches to open their doors to homeless people. Those seeking shelter on Monday can call the housing hotline at 360-695-9677 between 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Vancouver Navigation Center is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for those looking to get out of the elements during the day.
