Alaska Airlines and its northwest regional subsidiary Horizon Air released a 2020 jobs forecast, which includes a plan to hire nearly 2,800 employees over a year. The positions include pilots, flight attendants, maintenance technicians, customer services agents and software developers.
Most of the new jobs will be based in Seattle or Portland, the company’s two hubs, although a news release from the company states that listings include ground service and passenger-service job openings at other airports.
A position breakdown shows that both airlines are seeking to hire about 200 pilots and 150 flight attendants. The bulk of the remaining positions are ground service agents (Horizon is seeking about 450) and customer service agents, with Alaska seeking about 945 and Horizon about 220.
