Boys basketball: Columbia River 63, Mark Morris 36

The Chieftains jumped out to a 23-8 lead after the first quarter and kept up the solid defense to beat the visiting Monarchs on Tuesday in the 2A GSHL matchup.

Columbia River’s Nate Snook scored a game-high 20 points, and Josh Kukula scored 15 points on five 3-pointers.

The Chieftains’ defense clamped down on Mark Morris and didn’t allow any player in double-digit scoring. Kobe Parlin was the leader with nine for the Monarchs.
