‘Lemonade Day’ coming to Vancouver this summer

A global youth entrepreneurship program called Lemonade Day will add Vancouver to its roster of participating cities this year. The local version, Lemonade Day Greater Vancouver, comes from a partnership between the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and iQ Credit Union.

The lesson-based program offers elementary school students a chance to learn the basics of imagining and creating a business by launching their own lemonade stands, according to a news release from the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. It will teach students skills such as financial literacy, entrepreneurship, responsibility and an interest in community development. The program began in 2007 in Houston, and it has grown to serve more than 1 million children in the U.S.
