The Wildcats’ largest lead was 20 points in the second quarter behind six 3-pointers, but the Cougars clawed back to tie it midway through the fourth quarter before La Center pulled away.
“They executed on a few plays the last 4 minutes that sealed it for them,” Seton coach Kris Small said.
Xavier Rushing had 16 of his 28 points in the second half.
“He was huge for us,” Small said. “He kept us afloat.”
La Center hit 10 3s, including nine in the first half. Tobey Deemer hit four 3s as part of a 27-point second quarter by La Center.
Hunter Ecklund added 18 for the Wildcats.
