Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington are recruiting mentors to be paired with school-age youth in need of positive role models for at least one hour each week. Activities during each session will vary and are based on the member and mentor; anything that offers positive reinforcement and signals to them that they have the respect and admiration of an accomplished adult will do wonders.

City of Vancouver Speed Monitor Awareness Radar Trailer (SMART) is an educational device that helps drivers become more aware of the posted speed limit and of their current speed. Trained SMART volunteers will work in teams of two on Mondays to drive and set up the trailer alongside predetermined locations then pick up the trailer and transport it to a new location or back to City Operations Center on Friday. Volunteers commit to three to four hours per month.

Family Promise of Clark County welcomes families with children experiencing homelessness by putting them into immediate temporary shelter, getting children to school, and assisting parents with permanent long-term solutions. Day Center assistants are needed during the week and on weekends for three-hour shifts. Duties vary but may include reading or playing with children or assisting adults with career goals and/or life skills. Van drivers are also needed on weekdays and weekends to transport guests between the Day Center and various host locations in Clark County. No special license is required. Background checks and DMV records checks along with volunteer training and online child safety training are required.

Humane Society for Southwest Washington is in need of store assistants at their ReTails Thrift Store. Volunteers will engage customers in conversation, suggest promotions and clothing selections, answer customers’ questions, organize merchandise, assist cashiers with bagging and wrapping purchases when necessary and more. Shifts are available seven days a week.
