Vancouver Brewfest Spring Edition, which was scheduled for mid-April in Esther Short Park, has been canceled “due to the threat of coronavirus,” according to a news release.
The news release says festival organizer Cody Gray decided to cancel the spring event after looking into global uncertainty about the virus and its possible spread.
“We’re canceling the spring brewfest due to the uncertainty of the coronavirus and the risk it poses to the financial health of the (event),” Gray said. “With Switzerland banning gatherings of more than 1,000 until April at least and Japan shutting schools for a month, the risk is too great that we would suffer financial losses.”
The summer Vancouver Brewfest, held in the park every August, is still on schedule for Aug. 7 and 8.
