Quilt designed by Washougal residents to be featured in Kentucky event

WASHOUGAL — A quilt design by Washougal residents Cathy Erickson and Lorraine Kennedy Williams was selected by the American Quilter’s Society to be featured at the AQS QuiltWeek in Paducah, Ky. The design is called “Laurel Leaf.” American Quilter’s Society is the largest quilting membership organization in the world, according to a news release, and the AQS QuiltWeek features more than 400 quilts from all over the world. In the contest, a public event held April 22 through April 24, quilters will compete for $121,250 in cash awards. This year, there are entries from 41 states and 16 countries.
